Auditions

The Chicago Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra is composed of Chicago area musicians spanning many backgrounds and professions. Although many of our players are not professional musicians, together we enjoy the pursuit of serious repertoire and a high level of musical performance.

The orchestra rehearses on Thursday nights from 7:30pm-10pm at the Merit School of Music located in the West Loop / Greektown neighborhood of Chicago. Performances are held at Merit or other venues around the city. The official season extends from September to May, but casual summer chamber groups are not unheard of.

All interested musicians are invited to audition for membership. For more information or to schedule an audition please contact auditions@cmsorch.org.
